Bipolar disorder

What’s the difference between bipolar I and bipolar II disorder?

Some persons with bipolar disorder have periods (“episodes”) of depression AND, at times, periods of hypomania (mild mania). Such an illness is called bipolar II disorder. Persons with bipolar II disorder have NEVER in their lives had an episode of mania, a more severe form than hypomania.
